Reichsparteitag 1929 Nurnberg commemorative badge in Silver. This badge was issued to commemorate the Reichs Party Day in Nuremberg of 1933. It was later sanctioned as an official award in recognition of the fact that the 1929 Party Day occurred during the ‘Kampfzeit’ or ‘Time of Struggle’. As such it is higher quality than most ‘tinnies’ being die struck from solid brass with a nice antiqued bronze finish. The design depicts an eagle alighting on a German Steel helmet emblazoned with a swastika below a city scape of Nuremberg with the legend ‘1914 –1919 N.S.D.A.P. Parteitag 1929’. It measures 21mm x 48mm. The reverse has a robust brooch pin and the the maker’s name ‘Hoffstatter Bonn’ in relief.
