Plaque for Donation of Horses to the S.A. This extremely heavy non portable award was authorised by Adolf Hitler in 1937 to recognise those who had made donations of horse and equestrian facilities to the National Socialist Riding Corps of th S.A. This double sided plaque measures 115mm x 120mm and is cast in solid metal with a blackened finish. The design of the obverse incorporates the effigy of a thoroughbred horse together with a large eagle and swastika framed within an oakleaf wreath. The reverse bears an inscription in German, which translates as ‘For merit in the pre-military training of young German riders’
above an S.A. rune symbol.
