Finished in matt and burnished gold plate the cross has the distinctive tear-drop suspension loop and the correct wide cornflower blue ribbon which is hand embroidered with gold wire S.S. runes. Note: Even thought the S.S. did not exist for 25 years it was still possible to receive this award as war service and service during the time of struggle counted as double.
