Ostland Treuefahrt Plaque Bronze. This interesting plaque or radiator grill badge commemorates a driving event held in 1933 by various German driving organisations including the N.S.K.K and D.D.A.C. This plaque almost certainly originates from East Prussia. ‘Ostland Treuefahrt’ translates literally as ‘ East Land Loyalty Drive’ and the arcane hand symbol which dominates the design (and represents nationalism and loyalty to the homeland), is shown emerging ahead of the rising sun, above a representation of the Tannenberg war memorial in East Prussia. The design also incorporates the swastika and the date 1933 together with the initials of various participating organisations. It measures 60mm x 110mm and has an antique bronze finish. The reverse is flat and is inscribed with the maker’s name ‘Dorfstatter Markneuekirchen 5’ .
