Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross with out Swords. Instituted on the 19th August 1940 and awarded for outsanding military or civilian merit not involving front line combat service. The version without swords was awarded for merit not involving exposure to physical danger. This example is die struck in one piece and finished in heavy silver plate and has the makers code mark 1 and 900 on both the base of the cross and suspension loop. Complete 30cm of neck ribbon. A fine quality piece at an affordable price.
